CONSTRUCTION

FIBREPLAST pipe's amazing capabilities result from combining a proven engineered polymer matric resins, having superior chemical and thermal properties, with carefully oriented pretensioned glass filament reinforcements having exceptional tensile strength. RANGE OF PIPES

FIBREPLAST is a familyof filament wound fibreglass reinforced Isophthalic, Bisphenol, Polyester, Vinyl Ester, Epoxy, PVC, PP and PVDF piping systems. FIBREPLAST pipes are available in 50mm through 3000mm diameter, with pressure ratings of 1.75 to 10.5 kg/cm2. Flanges, fittings, supports, gaskets and a full range of hardware are also available. Installation of pipelines is also carried out at sites.

PROPERTIES

CHEMICAL RESISTANCE

An important property of FIBREPLAST pipes is the corrosion resistance of the material. GRP is not only non-rusting but also resistant against chemicals such as acids, caustics and salts. It also finds applications where galvanic corrosion can occur on metallic material due to electric currents such as close to railways, high voltage conduits ecetra.

FIBREPLAST-pipes combine high strength with high flexibility and corrosion resistance, unlike Chemical: Pipes  (15 Kb)mineral material such as clay, asbestos-cement or concrete, GRP is not subject to brittle fracture. This is a very important property in a lot of installation cases. FIBREPLAST-pipes thus can take up considerable settlements in the soil, also have very good resistance to cyclic bending loads.

FIBREPLAST pipes are capable of absorbing more than 40% dimetrical deflection without structural damage, returning to the original shape once the load has been removed.

COST EFFECTIVE

Roughly one sixth the weight of steel and one twelfth that of concrete, FIBREPLAST pipes are much easier and cheaper to transport and install. The interior surface of the pipe is smooth with comparatively low friction to fluid flow. This greatly reduces pumping costs, as compared to metal pipes. The long term value of the FIBREPLAST reinforced plastic pipe far transcends the initial cost comparison with other materials.

STANDARDS

All FIBREPLAST piping systems offer the tremendous advantage of light weight, saving labour time & cost in transportation, handling and erection. Pipes are supplied in standard lengths of 6 meters. Special lengths can also be easily made to order. Fibreplast products in general conform to NBS Voluntary Products Standards PS15-69. However any other standards can be followed if the purchaser so desires.

FIBREPLAST FILAMENT WOUND PIPES combine the superior chemical resistance offered by a RESIN RICH hand laidup LINER on the inside, backed by the tremendous strength offered by a continuous filament helically wound on the outside. The very strong filament wound outer protects the resin rich chemical resistant liner from mechanical damage and crazing and also prevents sagging between supports.

THERMOPLASTIC LINED FIBREPLAST PIPES

Specific service conditions require the chemical resistance of thermoplastics combined with the strength and temperature range of fibreglass reinforced plastics. Therefore standard extruded thermoplastic pipes such as PVC-POLY-PROPYL -ENE-PVDF-HDPE are wound over with glass fibres, resulting in a tough continuous structure having the enhanced chemical resistance of the thermoplastic and at the same time increasing the pressure and temperature capabilities of the pipe.

TESTING

All pipes and fittings are inspected and in-house testing is conducted prior to despatch. Raw materials are tested and certificate obtained. Hydraulic, hardness, postcure tests are routine procedure. Purchasers are welcome to witness any or all the testing.

POST CURING

FIBREPLAST pipes are infrared cured for optimum chemical resistance and physical properties. At FIBREPLAST we manufacture the most complete selection of pipes and fittings in terms of configurations, sizes, resins and reinforcing materials. Fittings are pressure rated to match the pipe.

SITE INSTALLATIONS

Fibreplast pipeline systems have been installed by our specialised erection crew at various sites for over 22 years. Most installations have included design, isometric drawings, testing, transportation and site installation on a complete turnkey basis. Fibreplast's erection crew is fully equipped with portable tools and tackles, portable sand blasting and site fabrication facilities. Field joints are either couplers, flared-ends, flanged, or plastic welded and then wrapped with fibreglass. Butt and strap joints are most popular in Xtra Reinforced Plastics Pvt.Ltd piping.
